Mermaid Style Dresses: Beyonce's Go-to Dress

Mermaid style dresses are back with a vengeance. Beyonce first made them popular, by wearing the silhouette to almost every black tie event in Hollywood!

I began thinking, how much I'd love to invest in a Mermaid Style dress, upon realizing, and wondering if my shape would look just as 'luscious' as Beyonces'. Lets take a look:

From here, there can be a slight or very dramatic flair down to the hem which could also stretch out to varying lengths. One must be comfortable with flaunting one's assests to pull this number off!

From what I see, the mermaid cut is not for everyone. This interesting and form-fitting design would be best on slender figures that have CURVES. The curves are a must, without them, you'd look like a straight column! The dress will hug your body and every curve you have. In addition, surprisingly, the mermaid dress can also be worn by petite women! (i.e. short) This was the most surprising for me! As a petite girl (5'2"), I always thought that the mermaid-style dress was for statuesque women only! After mustering up the courage and going out to department stores and trying on myself, I have fallen in love with the mermaid style trend!

The mermaid-style is very glamorous! However, the style can be pulled off with effortless elegance. When trying to pull off the classy look, stick to neutral colors with not too much pattern or frill. A gorgeous navy blue looks seductive but elegant and white always looks so classy and clean!

Ms. Beyonce is known for making the mermaid-style dress popular. She wears the silhouette so often, it is difficult to even think of a Hollywood red-carpet event where she hasn't. Beyonce rarely wears muted or *plain* patterns and styles either. She always adds sparkling diamonds, bright colors, big patterns, and luxurious fabrics!

A black mermaid dress is recommended when wanting to look slimmer. Black is such a classic color which can make for a beautiful dress. However, black can look severe, so try to show some skin, wear colored jewelery and accessories and do not go so dark on the make up!
